about pad
20+ years in the brand building business, helping our clients reach their audience
Our history
Pad was founded in south London in the early noughties, primarily as a branding and design agency. Our founders, having cut their teeth in the magazine design game, realising that variety is the spice of life, were looking to break out of the publishing world.
At this point, the Internet was becoming a vital part of the marketing mix and in Pad’s first year we added website design and build as part of our core offering.
Given our co-founder, Pete, was a bit of a coding nerd as a kid (he loved writing games in BASIC on his Atari), he was perfectly placed to take this on.
Ever since, we’ve operated as a genuine branding design and website design/development all-rounder, with two dedicated teams specialising in each discipline, collaborating closely to deliver the best outcomes for our clients.
Your dream team
We are a brand, web and digital design agency. We focus on providing a personal service and first-rate solutions to solve genuine business challenges. Our team consists of thinkers and doers, strategists, designers, developers and communicators. Not big, not small, not complicated, and with very hands-on owners.

Oversees all things web, making sure everything looks great and works as it should.
Co-founded Pad at the ripe old age of 24, having crammed in a range of jobs in the creative industry, ranging from technical illustrator to image-retoucher to magazine designer.
Former band member, makes mediocre electronic music… and can be found at a dingy gig venue, when excused from parenting duties.

Bex loves the cold and hates the sun, and would like to live in the arctic. In her (very limited with 2 children!) spare time she likes learning new skills like verre eglomise, bargello needlework, macrame etc... She loves learning about space and owns a telescope (which she still can't work out how to use properly). A great eye for detail that earned her the nickname Hawkeye and has been with Pad since 2007.

When not on the squash court Mark can usually be found hurtling down a mountain in the Swiss Alps or enjoying a pint of Guinness, but never both at the same time.

If you need an acute eye for detail (or possibly an endless supply of wine gums) then our web developer Richard is your guy. Richard joined Pad after perfecting his web dev skills following a career as a commercial headshot photographer (that we misheard in his interview and thought he was a ‘hedgehog’ photographer!).
He is a YouTube addict, design junkie and football fan, a lifelong Manchester United supporter who enjoys going to matches with his young son – both in Manchester and around Kent, often supporting their local team – Whitstable.

A mum of two boys, so my world consists of hearing about MMA, anime, and PS games.
Love bootcamp early mornings outdoors, even in sun, wind, rain, snow.
I am a huge animal lover, once the boys are older, I will be volunteering for cats’ protection 😊
A big foodie but cannot cook!

The Pad team's virtual assistant. A severe sufferer of wanderlust, it's hard to keep up with where in the world Nicola is working from, traveling the world chasing the seasons.
